Memory of Red and White

Some time ago, I was very bored with life as an adult, so I decided to go back to the elementary school. I chose to visit SD14, an elementary school in Pauh.

This elementary school was destroyed by a powerful earthquake on September 30, 2009. However, someone helped these elementary school, so that they can educate the young generation of this nation again. When I arrived at the school, they are conducting a flag ceremony. That ceremony reminded me of the days when still in elementary school.

A flag ceremony for me at that age is an activity that most do not want to do on Monday. Ceremony under a blazing sun, legs stiff because standing too long, and feels hungry in the middle of the ceremony is the most appropriate reason to run away from the ceremony. But when it was no longer to perform the ceremony, it became one that I miss. In fact, the ceremony is a very important activity to develop a sense of love to this country. The most fundamental lesson that obtained by all students in Indonesia.

SD14 ceremony activity begins with the direction from teachers to students, such as student discipline, straightening the line, and remind students to have a breakfast before the ceremony begins.

Master of ceremonies opened the ceremony. Red and white flag was flown. "Indonesia Raya" music start flowing from the musical instruments played by the students.

Music stops when the flag reached the top of the flagpole. The "Mengheningkan Cipta" swelled and all the students bowed their heads to commemorate the services of the heroes of the country. All students do it seriously and calmly, until you only hear the sound of my camera.

A lot of movements seen during the ceremony. I was reminded again about how I felt during the ceremony. A blazing sun...

legs stiff because standing too long...

and feels hungry in the middle of the ceremony...

haha, it made me like go back to that time..

UUD1945 was read by a 4th grade student. He walked to the front of all the students with so gallant, read UUD1945 with very loud. This had surprised me because a student with such a young age can read it out loud and confident.

The ceremony was closed by the master of ceremonies, and all the students walked forward to shake hands with teachers and go to their classes.

Best regards and thanks to SD14 Pauh
